Born in the Cape Province, South Africa. She spends her childhood years in Bloemfontein, barefoot and a self-proclaimed ‘tom-boy’. Net loves to ride horses and spends hours on her family’s farm whenever she gets the chance to escape school and the boundaries of the city. Memories of falling off horses, motorbikes and selling her mum’s antique china to the locals next to road made her somewhat of a legend in the community. She still maintains her relentless stamina for life to this day. At a young age, she soon finds her niche in sports when a ban is placed on climbing trees by her Mum. (That’s why it’s awesome to get the chance to do it again!) At age 11, the youngest Netball player recorded, is accepted into the University squad of the Orange Free State, she receives the Best Netball Player award for under 18’s at age 15 and eventually goes on to be a South African representative. The sporting career is left for the African plains when she leads safaris, small hunting parties and corporate team building. She finds her need for natural living and respect for the wild by working closely with some renown outfitters and learns the importance of conservation in natural resources and animal life. After apartheid in South Africa, Net is finally free to travel. She spends 2 year in London, travelling and working her way through the UK. London is a far cry away from South Africa, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed she realized that all that glitters is not gold, the importance of family weighs more. Net settles down in South Africa in 1999 and is becomes the proud mother of two active girls who follow in her own barefoot prints. Her family are relocated to the GCC in 2003 and this gives Net the opportunity to travel the globe. It teaches her the differences in cultures and how important it is to understand and identify with others, no matter what cultural differences there might be. Her selfless persona, outdoors lifestyle and need to improve mean she is an integral part of our tribe. Net utilizes her years in the African bush to provide a fitness experience that is fun and closely aligned to functional movement in the natural world.
