We know that modern-day living can be out of sync with our natural evolution.  At Tribal Fitness we work to improve our member’s lives by guiding them back to nature.  We believe everybody can improve their quality of life, even those in the cities, through simple change.  We have identified the following components that are bettering our tribe’s lives :

Living by the sun

Modern day life or “vampire living” can mean we avoid the sun all day.  We leave the house, take transport to work, work and then transport back to the house.  Who knew there was blue sky outside?!  We are all too often told about the dangers of the sun but rarely about the dangers of avoiding it.  Smart exposure to the sun is our best way of gaining vitamin D.  Vitamin D is vital for strong bones, high immunity and a long life-span.  It is important to seek quality sunlight through the day to experience a natural circadian rhythm.  This rhythm means we are fully awake during the day and get a quality sleep at night.  Respecting the sun and using it as our clock means we fall back into a natural way of living.

Walkabout

Tribes people around the world can walk great distances everyday to collect water, hunt, explore and broaden their understanding of the land.  The average modern-day man rarely prioritises time for walking even though it is of great importance.

Walking everyday allows us to gain necessary sunlight, allocate “thinking” time, communicate with friends and even improve our health.

The best component of walking is that it is free.

Attitude

If the mind is open then the body will follow.  Individuals with negative attitudes restrict  themselves and others from achieving their potential. A positive mind attracts the “right” kind of people who are supportive and encouraging.  At Tribal Fitness we work to attract individuals who will make our tribe stronger.  We quickly cut our losses with people who are not open to change.

Play

Regarded as a child’s activity by many, play is a key component of a healthy life.  Playing can include climbing trees, jumping in the surf, being active with the kids or enjoying physical games.  Play is vital for us to continue to learn and explore the world around us.  We only get old when we forget how to play.  Making time to play is seriously fun!
